SUMMARY:Belgrade Summer Festival - BELEF 2013
DESCRIPTION:Belgrade Summer Festival is taking place from June 21st to July 15th under the under the slogan “Breathe! Do not breathe “. This year BELEF will gather together some of the biggest local festivals\, but it will also team up with some new partners. The main festival venue will be located in the courtyard of the Fifth Belgrade Gymnasium\, close to the city centre.\nThe film part of the programme is marked by the first collaboration with one of the longest European film festivals\, Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival\, which turned 60 this year; and the reunion with Magnificent 7\, that will screen films from three world-famous documentary directors- Thomas Riedelsheimer from Germany\, Mika Rokainen from Finland and Mark Isacs from the UK. \nBELEF 2013 marks another successful cooperation with Supernatural festival\, which will hold its programme in the Supernatural Park on Ada Huja; and Baskerfest\, the festival of street performers\, which will open the Belgrade Summer Festival and bring the good atmosphere to the streets of the capital. \nRing Ring and the young music talents of Attic studios will be making sure we have fun with some superb live music this year. The audience will get a chance to laugh with the programme of Stand Up Fest\, that will feature renowned local and foreign stand up comics\, as well as first timers on its open mike night. \nAs well as last year\, the visitors will experience literature in a unique way with the programme of Krokodil festival\, which reminds us summer is close and Love is in the air. BELEF festival is especially proud to keep up with the long tradition of presenting performance arts and this year the audience will be able to enjoy the performances of Festival of Choreographic Miniatures\, tango festival Belgrade Tango Encuentro and the young drama enthusiasts from Teatar 5. \nThe mission of the BELEF festival is to offer a rich programme\, consisting of music\, theatre\, performance arts and films\, to the local and tourist audiences during the summer months- all that completely free of charge. \n

SUMMARY:Carnival of Vrnjci
DESCRIPTION:One of the largest tourist manifestations in Serbia\, after Brass festival in Guča and Exit festival\, the Carnival in Vrnjačka Banja is organized from July 14th till July 21st. \nDuring this traditional carnival\, Vrnjačka Banja turns into one big stage with masked balls\, exhibitions\, concerts\, plays and sport events. \nThe central event is the Great International Carnival Parade. Numerous carnival troops from around the world guarantee great fun and true festival spirit. \nYear after year\, this manifestation gathers more and more participants from the country and from around the world. \nIt is expected that this year the traditional carnival parade will gather the largest number of participants from the country and from abroad. \nGroups SARS\, “Sevdah baby”\, “Milligram”\, tribute bands “Balaševic” and “Bijelo dugme” will be perform at the Carnival in the Vrnjci Spa\, also. The visitors will be entertained by many DJs every night. \n“Carnival of the festivals” program will also include the “Festival of popular music” that gathers prominent names from the popular music scene. \nCarnival of Vrnjci has been awarded the “Tourist flower” award for the best tourist event by the Tourist Organization of Serbia with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism. \nLast year\, the Carnival was visited by more than 250\,000 visitors. \n

SUMMARY:Tvrđava teatar 2013 (Fortress theater)
DESCRIPTION:This year’s ambient theater festival “Tvrđava teatar” (Fortress Theatre) is being held from July 14th till July 20th under the slogan “Miracle is possible”.\nPlays created in a variety of modern\, authentic directorial approaches and manuscripts\, and based on texts of all genres of drama in the time span of half a millennium\, will be performed at the Smederevo Fortress under the clear night sky. \nThe play “Pierre lunatic” performed by the Mask Theatre from Bucharest is opening the Festival on July 14th. by the. \nIt is being followed by the plays “Young Stalin” by Šabac Theatre\, “Peer Gynt” by the Ensemble of the Academy of Arts from Belgrade\, “Čudo u poskokovoj dragi” by National Theatre from\, “Miracle in Šargan” by National Theatre from Užice\, “Opera Ultima” by Novi Sad Theatre\, “Stardust” by Vuk Karadžić Cultural Center from Belgrade. \nAwards for the best play\, direction and actor will be awarded at the festival. Plays will be performed at the Small and the Big Town at the Smederevo Fortress and at Republic Square. \nThe ticket price for the programs at the Small Town is 300 RSD\, and a set of tickets for all programs is 1\,500 RSD. \n

DESCRIPTION:Bloc Party\, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds\, Eric Prydz\, Dubfire\, Dubioza Kolektiv\, Orthodox Celts and 17 more performers will entertain the audience on the July 14th\, the last day of the EXIT 2013 at Petrovaradin fortress in Novi Sad.\nMain Stage \nBloc Party \nBloc Party\n  \nBritish indie rock heavyweights Bloc Party will be playing EXIT and Serbia for the first time\, with band members Kele Okereke\, Russell Lissack\, Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong ready to reverberate their new sound around the fortress walls. In 2012 the band released their long awaited comeback album dubbed ‘Four’ following the bands three year hiatus. Charismatic Kele Okereke stands out as one of the heroes of alternative music culture\, as a person whose personal activism and outspoken approach has won hearts globally. Now\, after eight years and five albums under their belts\, (their sixth\, “Wild Wild East”\, due for international release in September of 2011)\, they can claim a list of accomplishments that would make any musicians proud: a diehard fan base (“5 do 12” boasts over 100\,000 downloads and counting).
